Get to the Point
June 28, 2008
I spent yesterday at Cedar Point. I think I was the hottest time I’ve ever encounter there. The muggy heat just zaps any energy you have. I did eat some delicious strawberry ice cream from Tofts. I rode one ride. I’m such a wuss anymore; having a headache and feeling like crap for two days after just doesn’t justify the 3 minute thrills. I think I’m getting too old for the G-Forces.
There’s not much knitting to show right now. I really want to finish my Creative sock before I show it off. I did ply some singles I spun from the BFL roving I dyed. It is certainly an improvement every time I spin.
I’ve been trying to use up some dyes that have been lingering in bottles. Hello Kettle Dyeing! This is by far my favorite way to dye anything. Put some yarn in a crock pot, heat it up, and randomly pour on the dye. You have to flip the yarn a couple of times and repeat but the results are stunning.
I have two more mondo kettle skeins that are drying. I tied on some mini yardage pieces so I can get an idea of what this looks like on the needles.
This song has been stuck in my head, knocked loose by all the wildfires in California. I’ve been to Big Sur a few times, driving down Route 1. It really is a pretty area. I hope it doesn’t all burn down.

I haven’t been to Cedar Point in like ten years. I don’t like the heat either although I don’t think it bothered me as much when I was younger. I love all the rides but my hubby doesn’t so we don’t really go to the amusement parks anymore. At least you got to have some yummy toft’s ice cream.

i used to LOVE cedar point. i don’t think i’ve been there in almost a decade though. i’m definitely too old for rides like that now. i can’t imagine the headache i’d get from the raptor these days!
my favorites were thunder canyon, snake river falls, and the magnum. woo!

Yeah when I went to Cedar Point a few years ago I wasn’t right for like a week afterwards. I think I’m just old.
Your kettle dye skeins are stunning! What a fun way to use up extras!
