Good-bye Yarn Wagon
February 21, 2008
Oof! I feel hard off the yarn wagon this month. I can see it in the far off distance, kicking up fluffs of fiber and its passengers looking yarn hungry.
First I caved with the Yarn Pirate trade on Ravelry. Then I hit the Sweet Sheep. And now the Wollmeise.
I actually wear a fair amount of orange but it is very absent in my sock stash.
This is a nice periwinkle color that is very hard to photograph.
This is for my mom. She LOVES red.
Included with those gems above were two natural skeins in the Fluffy base. I really like that yarn so I thought I might dye some myself. I was having serious shopping cart issues, most likely caused by yarn sharks, when I bought these. I cannot say enough good things about Claudia. The poor lady must be dyeing in her sleep to keep up with the frenzy.
I also scored a skein of Three Irish Girls on Ravelry yesterday. It’s a DK superwash they don’t offer anymore in Kelly. I’ll put up pictures when it comes.
I was doing so well not buying too much yarn. I’m never really on a yarn diet but I realize it will take me years to get through my stash. If I knit it when I’m 90, I knit it when I’m 90.
I also broke my one project at a time rule. The Robin’s Egg color I dyed up on the BFL DK was calling to me.
It is gorgeous knit up, all shy and subtle. I modified the rib and cable pattern to work with 50 stitches for the DK weight. It’s flying on my needles.
I have a fingering weight one in this color to add to the shop. I am going to try to do some dyeing this weekend. I received some new dye colors and miscellaneous supplies this week so there may be new colors on the horizon.

One project at a time? Did you seriously think that was a reasonable goal
