Roving the Area

August 17, 2007

I’ve updated the shop with a handful of skeins in some new colorways. Here’s the line-up: Top Row: Coral Reef, Starboard Bottom Row: Pumpkin Patch, and Flirt.

New Color Mosaic

I attempted to dye my own roving. I had two 8oz bundles of fuzz. I soaked the roving for a bit and them poured dye on it. I cooked it in the crock pot for a good length of time. I wonder how it’s gonna look knit up. I usually don’t go for purples but I do like this one.

I have a spinning class tomorrow in Lakewood at Stitch Cleveland. It’s a bit of a drive for me but it should be worth it. If I like spinning, I’m going to buy a Babe wheel. I cannot afford a wood one and I hear the Babes work just as well.

Welcome to the dark side… ;) I’ll look forward to hearing how your roving works out. It looks beautiful!

As a proud owner of a Babe, I can attest that they work just fine. :) Travis hasn’t had any problem spinning on the Babe either. Plus, the bobbins are so inexpensive! You can’t go wrong.

I really like the second, brownish roving. It looks like it’s going to have all sorts of beautiful colors in it once it’s spun. The areas between where the darkest and lightest parts on the roving are normally seem to spin up to be the most interesting colors. You’re going to have so much fun doing this!

All of your yarns are gorgeous. The roving looks fantastic too. I’ve wanted to try my hands at spinning but can’t quite convince the hubby to let me start. Also wanted to let you know I left you an award on my blog!
